Directly inspired by ideas of personal healing and acceptance, this design made its way into my regular collection via a series of mixed media assemblages that I've been working on for the past decade. The heart, originally cast in 14kt gold,  was placed inside of a little 'bowl' that depicts my family's pilgrimage to an ancestral gravesite. The series was about reconciling with the story of my family's migration to Canada. Probably one of the most personal pieces in my collection but also one of the most universal.
